Cirrus Australia East has seen a marked increase in demand for aircraft in the post-pandemic era, driven by customers' inability to rely on airlines.

Cirrus Australia East, which is the approved agent for QLD, NSW and ACT, has experienced a demand increase of 400% over pre-pandemic levels for personal aircraft, with 50% of the buyers new to aviation.

“COVID has changed the way many travel with people purchasing their own aircraft as they could not rely on commercial airlines anymore," said David Crawford, Cirrus Australia East Sales Manager, "but instead prefer to fly themselves for business and personal reasons.”

The increased demand reflects a trend around the world, where Cirrus led the 2022 sales ladder with a 20% increase in deliveries over pre-pandemic levels.

According to Cirrus Australia East Business Development Manager, Olivia Sainsbury, Cirrus Aircraft have the edge when it comes to easy personal flying.

“Cirrus aircraft feel like you are stepping into a luxury SUV," she said. "Instead of driving for three hours, you arrive in just 45 minutes with a Cirrus aircraft.

"For example, Cirrus owners can start their morning in Sydney, have meetings in Dubbo and Canberra then be home for dinner.”

World-wide, Cirrus has delivered more than 9000 SR-series aircraft since the type was first introduced in the late 1990s, and last year rolled-out 90 SF50 Visions jets, which is Cirrus' best result since the type was introduced in 2017.
