Nominations for the 2025 CASA Wings Awards opened this week.

The Wings Awards, now in their 12th year, recognise people and organisations that make significant contributions to the general aviation industry and community in Australia.

"The CASA Wings Awards celebrate the achievements of exceptional individuals and organisations in the general aviation community," said James Ostinga, publisher of Australian Flying.

"The awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the people and companies that go above and beyond to make general aviation better for all."

With CASA as naming-rights sponsor, the Wings Awards are judged by a panel drawn from the Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Australian Flying magazine. The five categories of awards are:

  • Col Pay Award for a Lifetime of Service to General Aviation
  • Flying Training Organisation of the Year
  • Aero Club of the Year
  • Flying Instructor of the Year
  • Young Achiever of the Year.

Winners will be presented with a trophy and citation, accompanied by prizes donated by supporting organisation Garmin, World Fuel, AvPlan, Icom and GME

Nominating is done on the Australian Flying website, with the 2025 winners sharing prizes valued at more than $5500. Successful nominators will also win a one-year subscription to Australian Flying magazine.

Nominations are open now and close 16 November 2025. Winners will be announced in the March-April 2026 edition of Australian Flying.
