Garmin has unveiled Axis, a new family of highly integrated flight displays for single-engine piston aircraft and light twins, and it might be the most significant shift in retrofit avionics since the G3X Touch. By folding IFR GPS, NAV/COMM radio and a four-place audio panel into the display itself, Axis does away with the traditional radio stack altogether, freeing up real panel space and simplifying installation.
