For Naomi, living on Kangaroo Island means stunning coastlines and a close-knit community. But when stage 4 cancer required regular treatment in Adelaide, the distance became a serious burden. Without Angel Flight, her journey would involve a ferry crossing and a lengthy bus trip, exhausting for anyone undergoing cancer treatment, and potentially dangerous for an immunocompromised patient on crowded public transport.
This beautifully produced short film follows Naomi's flight to Adelaide with volunteer pilot Rod and driver Bruce, and captures something that goes beyond transport: the kindness, reassurance and human connection that Angel Flight volunteers bring to some of life's hardest moments.
A reminder that access to healthcare should never depend on where you live.
