Recreational Aviation Australia chairman Michael Monck has been returned to the board following the recent election and has been joined by newcomer Alan Middleton.

With two positions available, Monck received a dominant 634 votes, with 377 going to Middleton.

Middleton is the Managing Director of Bluewater Airport and convenor of the CASA North QLD Regional Airspace and Procedures Advisory Committee (RAPAC).

Sitting board member Barry Windle was marginally defeated for his seat, scoring only 333 votes.

The seven-member volunteer board is now:

  • Michael Monck (chair)
  • Tony King
  • Trevor Bange
  • Eugene Reid
  • Rod Birrell
  • Luke Bayly
  • Alan Middleton

Monck and Middleton will now serve on the board for three years, with Middleton starting his term on 23 September.
