Diamond Aircraft have successfully tested the DA52 in Austria. The new seven-seat twin flew for one hour, climbing to an altitude of 12000 feet in nine minutes and cruising at 190 kts, the top end of the authorized envelope.
The success of the flight has generated excitement at Hawker Pacific, the appointed Diamond Aircraft dealer for Australia and NZ. Senior Vice President Tony Jones was gratified to see Diamond continuing to invest in new projects.
“Developing an aircraft of this sophistication shows a great level of confidence in general aviation from Diamond and we are proud to be their partners in the region,” he said.
Tested at the hands of Diamond Chairman Christian Dries and Head of Flight Test Ingamar Mayerbuch, the DA52 climbed at a stable rate of 1700 feet per minute at 120 knots at its MTOW of 1780 kg.
The DA52 is powered by two Austro Engine AE300E turbo-diesel engines giving 180 hp each.
