Tecnam has appointed Giovanni Pascale Langer as Chief Executive Officer, making him the third generation of the Pascale family to lead the Italian manufacturer. Paolo Pascale Langer, who has led Tecnam for recent decades, becomes President. The board’s unanimous decision took effect on 8 October.
Under Paolo’s leadership, Tecnam has become one of the world’s leading general aviation manufacturers, delivering more than 8500 aircraft to more than 60 countries. The company’s roots go back to 1948.
“In the cockpit, when handing over the controls, we say ‘You have control’. Today I say it to Giovanni, with confidence and pride,” Paolo Pascale Langer said.
“He has the competence, the vision, and the character to keep Tecnam flying with the ambition and determination to go ever further. I will remain by his side.”
Born in 1991, Giovanni joined Tecnam as an apprentice assembler, working on the production line and in other departments before becoming Managing Director in 2019. A commercial pilot licensed in the US and Italy, he has led the company’s commercial development in international markets, including Australia, and overseen operations in Capua and at Tecnam US.
In October 2019, he flew the first P2012 Traveller across the Atlantic from Capua to Boston to deliver it to its launch customer.
As CEO, he will focus on strengthening Tecnam’s international position, expanding its products and services, accelerating digitalisation and evolving its industrial processes.
“We want Tecnam to be the global benchmark in general aviation: the aircraft on which the new generation of pilots trains, the one that connects territories where large carriers do not reach, the one that carries the signature of Italian quality wherever it lands,” he said.
The appointment comes as the P2012 continues to grow in Australia, with Microflite Group last week ordering two P2012 STOLs for Par Avion’s Tasmanian operations.
