Sydney-based charter operator Navair has taken delivery of a new Embraer Phenom 300E, with CEO Rick Pegus at the controls for the ferry flight from Embraer’s factory in Melbourne, Florida, to the company’s base at Bankstown.
Widely reported as the world’s best-selling light jet, the Phenom 300E has a range of around 2000 nm, enough for routes such as Sydney to Auckland or Sydney to Cairns without a fuel stop. It seats up to nine passengers in a cabin that is wider and taller than most in its class, with a flat centre aisle and more baggage space than is typical for a light jet.
Safety features include Embraer’s emergency descent mode, which automatically descends the aircraft in the event of a cabin depressurisation, and a runway overrun awareness system that continuously checks whether the runway ahead is long enough and alerts the crew if it isn’t.
Pegus said the jet was part of a deliberate run of investment this year.
“This aircraft joins a modern fleet that’s growing to match what our clients are asking for, and is now ready for charters leading into the busy end of year period,” he said.
“I flew the new Phenom home myself, and it is an incredible executive jet. It’s quiet, stable, and reliable, which is the type of aircraft we want available for our clients.”
The Phenom is Navair’s third expansion in 2026, following the introduction of the Pilatus PC-24 and New Zealand CAA approval for unrestricted, on-demand charter access to 13 New Zealand aerodromes.
The aircraft is now available for charter.
