Mooney International conducted the first flight of the Ovation Ultra earlier this month and says the aeroplane will be ready for display at Oshkosh this year.
The Ovation Ultra is a redesigned version of the standard Ovation similar to the Ultra version of the Acclaim announced in February.
Mooney test pilot Mike Miles flew the new Ovation for an hour on 4 June, declaring that the handling and performance were excellent.
The aircraft will continue test flying before being painted ready to take its place alongside the Acclaim Ultra at EAA Airventure at Oshkosh 25-31 July.
