CASA has scheduled one webinar and two seminars to explain the impending general aviation maintenance rules.

CASR Part 43, which is intended to introduce simpler maintenance rules for aircraft operated in private, training and airwork categories, is currently under consultation.

The seminars have been produced to help aircraft owners and operators better understand what the new rules mean and how they will be applied. The program consists of a webinar on 1 June and on-site information sessions at Cairns on 8 June and Parafield on 15 June.

Topics to be explored during the 60-minute sessions include:

  • understanding the rules
  • the impact on private and airwork operations
  • how to provide feedback during the consultation period
  • implementation and transition to Part 43

Registration for the webinar and information seminars is via the CASA website.

CASR Part 43 in under consultation until 19 June.
