Candidates sitting any pilot exam can now bring CASA’s plain English guides into the exam room.
Where candidates are already permitted to take a specific regulation into the exam, they may now choose to take the corresponding plain English guide instead of, or as well as, the printed regulation. Plain English guides are designed to explain aviation safety requirements clearly and practically, making them a valuable study and exam aid as well as a useful reference during the exam itself.
All other exam conditions and invigilation rules remain unchanged. Candidates are responsible for ensuring any materials they bring comply with existing rules, including restrictions on annotations, loose pages and binding. Plain English guides may only be taken into the exam room where they are listed as permitted material on the CASA website.
Further information on permitted materials is available at casa.gov.au.
