Looking like the love child of a Fairchild C-119 and a Cessna 337, the Volt Aero Cassio uses distributed hybrid electric power. The Cassio 1 prototype is constructed from a C337 with the front engine removed and replaced with two electric engines in the wings. The rear combustion engine remains to generate power to the electric props both front and rear. The production Cassio 2 will have an all-new composite fuselage. Projected to hit 200 KTAS, this French machine will seat four to nine people depending on configuration.
