Although it was held back in March, video of the RAAF Centenary Air Armada around Melbourne has only just emerged. Organised by three clubs–Royal Victorian Aero Club, Lilydale Flying Club and Peninsula Aero Club–the air armada consisted of 47 aeroplanes flying in two formation balbos that overflew Point Cook at exactly the same time. The clubs conceived the idea to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the RAAF; a salute from the civil aviation community at the birth place of the air force.

Note: Australian Flying editor Steve Hitchen was part of the organising team and flew as Green Alpha 10.
