The Courier-Mail reports that Queensland police officers are trialing Remotely Piloted Aircraft to possibly replace police helicopters. Canadian jet manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace has named men’s tennis World Number 1 Novak Djokovic as a new Learjet Brand Ambassador. The Serbian tennis maestro, who has dominated the sport over the last 18 months, joins an exclusive list of Bombardier Business Aircraft brand ambassadors including actor and pilot John Travolta, architect Frank Gehry, maestro Valery Gergiev, and classical pianist Lang Lang. Says Djokovic, “I’ve been a Learjet fan for many years; they’re fantastic planes”.
The Border Mail reports that a wheels up landing by a Piper Comanche pilot closed Albury Airport for an hour on Monday arvo. The pilot is said to have reported engine problems shortly after take-off.
