New Zealand warbird identity Sir Tim Wallis has sold his Hawker Hurricane to a customer in Europe.
The Hurricane was put up for sale several years ago, but failed to find a buyer until recently sold through Australian company Platinum Fighter Sales.
The former Battle of France and Battle of Britain Veteran set sail on February 10 from New Zealand and is scheduled to arrive with a private owner in mid March.
A favourite attraction of the biennial Warbirds Over Wanaka show, the Hurricane will be very much missed by warbird enthusiasts in both New Zealand and Australia.
