Italian aircraft manufacturer Vulcanair has announced the EASA validation of the Garmin G950 Glass Cockpit on to its range of piston aircraft.
The new system will be available immediately on all new aircraft.
The G950 brings the specifications of the P68 Series aircraft to very high industry standards in terms of avionics.
The system selected has two screens: a PFD and a MFD. All the engine parameters are displayed on the MFD.
G950 will be available both for the P68C and P68R (retractable) aircraft, which have a conventional nose configuration.
In addition, the G950 is also available on the P68 Observer.
The installation of the system on to the plexiglass nose aircraft is a first in the GA industry.
This configuration enables an advanced full IFR glass cockpit aircraft while retaining the high level of visibility necessary for surveillance purposes.
The G950 integrates all primary flight, navigation, communication, terrain, traffic, surveillance, weather, and engine sensor data on high-definition LCDs.
Aircraft manufacturers can select between a two or three display G950 system. It does not include the GFC 700 autopilot.
