Tecnam's new Astore LSA has made its public debut at AERO 2013 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.

The Italian manufacturer announced the new aeroplane in March, giving the world only a small taste of their latest creation.

Smooth and elegant, the Astore features a low wing with a sliding canopy, two-blade, fixed-pitch prop and tricycle undercart.

“We have built our reputation at Tecnam on producing aeroplanes that offer outstanding value, beauty and efficiency” said Paolo Pascale, Tecnam’s Managing Director. “What better way to celebrate Tecnam’s 65th anniversary than by offering our customers the very best next-generation LSA, the Tecnam Astore, designed to make flying a Tecnam aeroplane a most enjoyable flying experience."

Astore customers will have a choice of three Rotax powerplants - 912ULS, 912is or 914 Turbo - or the Lycoming YO-233, with a projected 75% cruise speed of 120 knots, and a range of 670 nm. Fuel is contained in two 55-litre tanks.

The Astore comes standard with an Apple iPad® mini and the Levil G Mini AHRS, which, using its WiFi connection, will provide a Primary Flight Display on the iPad® mini using compatible third party applications. Additionally, the pre-installed dedicated app will compute the actual weight and balance, provide checklists and include all the Pilot Operating Handbook sections.
