Beechcraft's new King Air 250 twin turbo-prop has met with immediate sales success in Australia.

According to local agent Hawker Pacific, the demonstration tour is behind schedule because interest has been so strong.

Tony Jones, Senior VP Aircraft Sales for Hawker Pacific, elaborated on a problem most aircraft manufacturers would love to have.

"Even before the King Air 250 touched down in Australia, we had received a significant level of interest,

"Less than half way into the demonstration tour across Australia we have received heightened interest from operators across the board as well as one sale directly attributable to the way the aircraft performs.

"The local market values the versatility, speed and flying characteristics of the King Air, and now having seen it first hand, recognises the significant improvements in this new generation aircraft. Backed by Beechcraft's legendary customer support, we're confident we have a winning combination."

The King Air 250 is a development of the BE200, with flat-rated 850 hp PT6A-52 engines and winglets that enable the new model to cruise in flight levels above 30,000 feet.
