After the success of last year's event, another Regional Aviation Summit has been scheduled for Canberra on March 19, 2013.
The summit will be held at Parliament House.
Run by the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA), the summit is open to all Parliamentarians and their advisors, RAAA members and invited guests. The aim is to canvass all the major issues facing regional aviation.
Last year, the summit was attended by Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Anthony Albanese and Minister for Tourism Martin Ferguson, as well as many other MPs.
Delgates attended from airports, airlines and government agencies including CASA, Airservices and the ATSB.
In summing up the success of the 2012 summit, RAAA CEO Paul Tyrrell said:
"The Regional Aviation Summit ... was a success for a number of reasons. Firstly, twice as many people attended the summit and the dinner than initially was expected. There is no doubt that the industry wants to engage with our elected leaders far more closely. There was a real passion in the room that the issues facing regional aviation be heard, understood and acted upon."
Anyone wanting to attend as a delegate can register their interest on the RAAA website here.
