The Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA) and Hawker Pacific have initiated a new scholarship for 2015.

The Hawker Pacific Aircraft Maintenance (Airframe) Engineers Scholarship is open to students who are studying airframe maintenance full-time at the Certificate IV level, who had completed six months of their studies by 31 January 2015, and are self-funding their studies, or apprentices currently employed in the aviation industry and who are due to be enrolled in their second or third year of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course in 2015.

“We have found it a rewarding experience to be contributing to the next generation of aircraft maintenance engineers through the existing avionics scholarship that we have sponsored for the last four years and we are proud to be associated with such a professional organisation as the RAAA”, said Doug Park, Hawker Pacific’s Chief Operating Officer in the Pacific Region.

“The airframe scholarship is a logical progression for us as the Hawker Pacific Cairns facility, in particular, has benefited greatly from the contribution made by the approximately 60 apprentice aircraft maintenance engineers that we have employed over the last nine years and as such we are happy to support and encourage the development of engineers and to give something back.”

Application packs containing the eligibility and selection criteria for the new scholarship are available on the RAAA website.

Applications must be lodged with the RAAA by 31 July 2015.
