Piper Aircraft, Inc. has released its first quarter 2012 results, which show an increase in deliveries over the same period last year. Thirty-seven new aircraft were delivered to customers, 16 within the USA and 21 internationally, representing a 40% increase over the 26 total deliveries in Q1 2011. Sales revenue was also up 20% to US$31.5 million.

"Piper's performance in the first quarter of 2012 gives us a good start on the year. It also continues an upward trend in first quarter results for the past three years," said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott.

"In the first quarter of 2012 Piper's international aircraft deliveries continued to outpace those in the United States and that, again, reinforces the success of our strong globalization strategy," he said. "Thus far this year in Europe, for example, our delivery and order-taking performance for M-Class business airplanes and also our smaller aircraft is far outstripping our sales projections for that part of the world, and we are pleased with that."

Of all aircraft delivered, 20 were for the M-class series of high-speed singles, with the pressurized piston Mirage leading the way with 12 deliveries. Significantly, the traditional bread-and-butter lines for Piper–the Warrior, Archer and Arrow–have become only a small part of sales, with the combined deliveries of all three being only 11 aircraft.

Deliveries of all models:

Warrior 8

Arrow 1

Archer 2

Seneca 4

Seminole 2

Mirage 12

Matrix 2
