Pacific Aerospace (PAL) has struck a deal to build the P-750 turbo-prop utility aircraft in Beijing, Chinese media is reporting.
Beijing General Aviation (BAIC) apparently signed the deal with PAL earlier this month.
The first airframe is expected to be completed by end of this year with parts imported from New Zealand, but the joint venture will gradually tool-up to produce both components and complete planes. The production target has been set at 20 confirmed orders within a year.
BAIC has set an ambitious target of 100 P-750s per year for the next five years.
