CASA has released its suite of discussion papers (DP) on the reform of non-RPT aircraft maintenance.

Five papers have been released with comments due on March 1, 2013. The five are:

  • DP 1214SS - Maintenance of Non-RPT Aircraft
  • DP 1207SS - Continuing Airworthiness Management Requirements for Non RPT Aircraft
  • DP 1208SS - Maintenance Programs for Non RPT Aircraft
  • DP 1206SS - Airworthiness Reviews for Non-RPT Aircraft
  • DP 1215SS - Maintenance Personnel Licensing for Small Aircraft

New regulations relating to RPT aircraft have been progressively introduced since June 2011, and this latest suite of DPs addresses maintenance for aircraft operating in the other categories.

"Standards development work is now expanding into the second phase of the reform," says the CASA announcement, "to establish the continuing airworthiness and maintenance requirement for other sectors of the aviation industry, i.e. aircraft that are not authorised for RPT operations. This includes aircraft currently used for charter, aerial work and private operations."

The DPs can be downloaded from the CASA website here.
