The Federal Aviation Administration in the USA has certified the new ultra long-range Gulfstream G650ER corporate jet.
Gulfstream announced the certification yesterday, which clears the way for customer deliveried to begin later this year, ahead of the projected date of 2015.
"We’re excited to get this aircraft into the hands of customers, so they can see just how powerful it is,” said Gulfstream President Larry Flynn. “They’ll quickly discover that the G650ER shares many key characteristics with its sister ship, the G650, including a speed-and-range combination that makes it a game-changing aircraft.
"In short, the G650ER goes farther at faster speeds than any other business jet on the market.”
The G650ER can travel 7500 nm at Mach 0.85 and 6400 nm at Mach 0.90. This represents an increase of up to 500 nm over the range of the G650. Like the G650, the G650ER has a maximum speed of Mach 0.925.
The G650ER shares the same cabin, avionics and systems as the G650.
