Australian helicopter operator Heliwest has established a new base of operations at Roma in South-west Queensland.

The opening of the Roma base takes Heliwest’s presence in Queensland to five locations, which also includes Ballera, Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Mt Isa.

CEO David Grimes said “the Heliwest Roma operation is equipped to provide helicopter services in a wide range of roles including mining and exploration, geosurvey, oil and gas, pipeline and power line survey, emergency response and general personnel and equipment transport. With a solid economic base and bright outlook, Roma is an obvious choice for Heliwest’s Queensland expansion."

Heliwest operates 36 aircraft from 11 locations across Australia including AS.350s, MBB BO105s and Bell 206s.
