General aviation giant Hawker Pacific has bought Australian Cessna agent Aeromil Pacific to create one of the most comprehensive aviation companies in the country.

Sydney-based Hawker Pacific is already an agent for Beechcraft, Diamond, Mahindra/GippsAero and Bell, and adding a Cessna agency will give them significant coverage of the GA market.

Aeromil Pacific was one of the largest privately-owned GA organisations in the region, specialising in new Cessna aircraft sales, pre-owned aircraft sales, aircraft maintenance, parts support, aircraft management, charter services and pilot training.

"We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Aeromil Pacific, which will entrench Hawker Pacific as the region’s leading integrated aviation solutions provider," said Hawker Pacific CEO Alan Smith.

"The acquisition will significantly strengthen our capabilities in aircraft support and servicing, as well as round out our product portfolio with the addition of Cessna Aircraft Sales, Spares Support and Authorised Citation Service Centre.

"Aeromil’s reputation for quality service and maintenance, their exemplary representation of Cessna in the region and their aircraft management and support services, are an ideal strategic fit for our business."

Aeromil Pacific principal and Chairman of Alliance Airlines Steve Padgett has agreed to take on the role of Deputy Chairman at Hawker Pacific Australia, overseeing the sales and marketing of Cessna aircraft in Australia and New Zealand.

"Hawker Pacific’s acquisition of our company is a testament to the tremendous value our team has created over past years," Padgett said.

"Our companies have a shared commitment to providing innovative and high quality products and exceptional service to customers. I am confident that under the stewardship of Hawker Pacific, aircraft owners and operators will continue to benefit from the personal and dedicated approach our staff have displayed in the past."

Aeromil Pacific also owned Sunshine Coast flying school Flight Options.
