Australia's only general aviation aircraft manufacturer GippsAERO is to be re-branded in the name of its parent company Mahindra Aerospace.

GippsAERO manufactures the GA8 Airvan and has the turbo-prop GA10 and GA18 twin turbo-prop in development.

"I am pleased to announce this exciting step in the history of our brand and our business," said Terry Miles, CEO of GippsAERO. "In the past year, our growth as a global entity has been rapid. The authorized dealer network for the GA8 Airvan is now 13 strong and to support the sales growth we have established a global parts distribution and technical support network for our products.

"Our decision to align ourselves with our parent company, Mahindra, boldly marks our ambition for the future. Our products represent the essence of the Mahindra brand in the skies. And our marketing efforts will benefit from the Group's global expansion across its various business sectors."

Mahindra Aerospace Executive Director and CEO Arvind Mehra said dropping the GippsAERO name was necessary to create a common corporate image across the group's aviation businesses.

"Our new visual identity reflects a Mahindra that is progressive, modern and dynamic and ready to meet future challenges," he explained. "Yet, it retains the trust and reliability associated with the old word mark. GippsAERO products will now carry the new Mahindra visual identity under the Mahindra Aerospace brand, which will unify the group's various aerospace businesses."

Aircraft on display at the Australian International Airshow at Avalon are expected to carry the new branding.
