Development and testing of the first GippsAERO GA10 prototype is progressing well is on target for a public debut at Avalon in 2013.
Metal work on the first production aircraft has been started and is hot on the heels of the prototype flight tests, according to GippsAERO's GA10 product manager Matt Hassall.
"We are working through the prototype tests at the moment, and we've got the final production form about 99% nailed down," he told Australian Flying today.
"We'll have that done in about a month, and then we can start talking to CASA about dates and things for the certification process. We'll certainly have a demonstrator ready for Avalon and are targeting mid-2013 for CASA certification."
The GA10 is a ten-seat development of the GA8 Airvan and is targeted at the special mission and short-haul transport and freight niche markets.
