Russian Helicopters KA-32A11BC firefighting helicopter is to be type-certified for Australia.

The type certificate will be presented by CASA Director of Aviation Safety John McCormick at the Avalon air show on Tuesday, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Vladimir Morozov

The KA-32A11BC is a coaxial, six rotor helicopter designed by Kamov capable of lifting five tonnes on a sling. It is powered by two Klimov engines capable of developing 2400 HP.

The firefighting version is capable of using the Bambi Bucket and Simplex systems and also has an onboard water cannon for fire suppression.
