The Federal Aviation Administration has certified Aspen Avionics' Angle-of-Attack (AoA) indicator.

AoA indicators provide pilots with an awareness of the margin between the current angle-of-attack and the stall.

Unlike most other systems available, the Aspen AoA indicator integrates into the Evolution Primary Flight Display and Multi Function Display via a software upgrade.

“We worked closely with the FAA to integrate Aspen’s AOA technology into our displays in a timely and efficient manner. The FAA’s focus on reducing loss of control accidents through increased focus on AOA and efficient certification processes played a large role in our ability to bring this to market,” said John Uczekaj, Aspen president and CEO.

The Aspen solution requires no cabling or external sensors, and is priced at $US1995.
