It only took four days for a new Cirrus dealer in Zuhai, China, to sell 14 aircraft, indicating that the GA market may at long last be ready to boom.

Manufacturers of light aircraft and business jets have found the market in China tough to crack, with government attention and resources focused on the airline sector.

General Aviation in China has suffered from a serious lack of infrastructure and access to airspace, but maybe that’s all changing.

Zhuhai Cirrus General Aviation Co sold US$480,000 worth of  Cirrus SR20s and $800,000 worth of SR22s in just four days.

The company is a fixed-base operator (FBO) that provides aeronautical services such as fueling, hangaring and aircraft maintenance, as well as aircraft sales.

It is planning to build up 40 FBOs across the country, but particularly in the northeastern region.

The early success of the venture is encouraging for other light aircraft manufacturers who have been struggling to gain a foothold in the country.
