Cessna has finalised a deal to assemble the Caravan range in China through a joint venture with China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Company Ltd (CAIGA).
The JV was announced in May and completed in Shijazhuang this week. Components will be built in Wichita and sent to CAIGA for assembly.
Initially, the JV is for delivery to Chinese customers only.
Significantly, the deal also has room in it for clean-sheet turbo-props to be designed and assembled in China in the future. This could see indigenous Chinese aircraft flying under the Cessna brand.
