CASA has grounded Australia's fleet of M-18 Dromaders following the crash of a firebomber near Ulladulla last month.
VH-TZJ crashed on 24 October when a wing separated in flight.
"A total of 30 Dromader M-18A aircraft have been grounded as a precaution following the NSW fire fighting accident late in October," a CASA statement said.
"The grounding is to allow work to continue on reviewing safety issues relating to maintenance inspections and the operation of the aircraft.
"CASA is obtaining maintenance data and information from the Dromader operators. This will be carefully analysed before Dromader flights resume."
Earlier this year, the ATSB produced a report examining the operation of Dromaders at take-off weights exceeding 4200 kg, but it is not known if the crash of VH-TZJ is related to that issue.
Another Dromader, VH-IGT, was involved in an in-flight break-up on 29 December 2009.
