Australian Wings Academy (AWA) has bought Hawker Pacific's Diamond DA42-NG demonstrator, making it the first twin Diamond with Austro diesel engines sold in Australia.
The demonstrator has two Austro EA300 turbo diesels that run on Jet-A1 fuel.
Carolyn Thorburn, General Manager of AWA, says the Diamond will help them with expansion at their Gold Coast training academy.
“The DA42-NG will be a welcome addition to our current mix of some of the most modern single and multi-engine training aircraft available at AWA," she said.
"Our student base is continuing to grow, and so too is the demand for us to deliver more diverse, robust aircraft that can cater for beginners to advanced pilots. For this reason, we went to market and believe we have purchased the most technologically advanced twin trainer available.”
This is the second sale arising from Hawker Pacific's demonstation tour, with the DA40-XLS single-engine trainer having been sold in May.
