The Australian record for the most take-offs and landings in a day was broken in Parkes last Saturday, 2 November.

Ron Watts did 140 circuits in a day whilst raising money to buy a second GA8 Airvan for the Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) to use in Timor-Leste.

Ron's new mark tops the 122 circuits completed at Lismore in May by Tim Howes in a Drifter.

Watts used his Beech 19 Musketeer VH-SQA and was in the air for 10 hours. The figure of 140 was set because it was estimated that MAF aircraft around the world collectively did that many landings in a day, about one every three minutes.

His efforts raised $330,000 of the $500,000 needed.

Donations for the second Airvan are still being accepted via the Missionary Aviation Fellowship's website.
