Three hundred delegates attended the Rotortech 2014 conference and expo on the Sunshine Coast last weekend, more than the organisers were expecting.
Rob Rich, convenor of the Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA), told Australian Flying that only 150 delegates were planned for, but bookings leapt to 240 with a further 60 people coming to the exhibition only.
Concerns that Rotortech would struggle to meet industry expectations were laid to rest quickly, with 15 machines on display including a mock-up of the new Bell 505, the first time the aircraft has featured in an expo outside the USA.
Pre-bookings for the next Rotortech have already reached 30% of capacity.
