Dynon-owned Trig Avionics yesterday announced the release of the TT23, the latest in the Trig range of compact transponders.

A fully-certified Class 1, Mode S transponder with ADS-B Out, suitable for both VFR and IFR flight, the TT23 is smaller and 15% lighter than its predecessors.

“The new TT23 transponder takes our compact avionics product line up a notch”, said Andy Davis, CEO of Trig Avionics, “By including our compliant ADS-B position source in a package that is even smaller and lighter than the previous transponder, we have created a complete solution that is simple to install, and easy to use."

The TT23 is being offered in two versions: the base model TT23, which requires a separate compatible GPS source for ADS-B out, and the TT23G, which has a built-in GPS unit.

"The TT23G features a built-in GPS receiver, making it the ideal choice for pilots seeking an integrated ADS-B out solution," Trig states. "The TT23G is perfect for experimental and light sport aircraft looking to meet the requirements for ADS-B out in the United States.

"In markets where ADS-B equipage is voluntary, the TT23G offers enhanced conspicuity and safety."

Weighing in at 390 gm for the back box and controller combined, the TT23 transmits 240 W at the connector and complies with both TSO C88b and C112c for both IFR and VFR flight.

The TC20 control head can be installed directly into a panel, or in a 57 mm round hole with the use of two plastic blanking plates provided with the unit.

Sell prices for the TT23 and TT23G in Australia are expected to fall in the $4500-5000 range.
