Tecnam has launched an upgraded version of its four-seat P Twenty Ten general aviation aeroplane.

The P Twenty Ten MkII was officially unveiled at Aero Friedrichshafen yesterday.

The new version boasts a 215-hp Lycoming IO-390 engine and a variable pitch propeller, which is expected to be an improvement over the 180-hp IO-360 and fixed-pitch prop of the original.

According to the company, the MkII was developed in response to "many current and prospective P Twenty Ten owners."

"At Tecnam, we pride ourselves on actively listening to the evolving needs of our customers and the GA market," said Tecnam CEO Paolo Pascale.

"The introduction of the P Twenty Ten MkII affords customers to choose not only the avionics, but they want an upgraded engine too. They have control."

The IO-390 motor delivers its 215 hp at 2700 RPM and features a tuned induction system and "slick start" ignition. The injection system meters fuel in proportion to the induction airflow, with vapourisation taking place at the intake ports. The enigne has the same footprint as the IO-360 it replaces.

Tecnam has also upgraded the MkII avionics with the new generation Garmin 1000 Nxi Flight Deck, and provision for ADS-B OUT has been made standard on all aircraft.

More information on the P Twenty Ten MkII is on the Tecnam website.
