Italian manufacturer Tecnam announced at AERO 2019 in Friedrichshafen this week that it has produced a certified version of the popular P2002JF LSA in reponse to customer demand.

The P2002JF MKII is certified to the Federal Aviation Administration's FAR23 and EASA's CS23 in both the IFR and VFR categories. It also has an increased MTOW of 650 kg.

The aircraft is equipped with Garmin G500 TXi avionics designed specifically for FAR 23 and CS 23 aircraft. The twin touchscreens are integrated with the GTN series navigators and the GPS series nav/comm units, and GDU700P multi-function display with air data and attitude heading reference system (ADAHRS).

"We are so proud to have the new P2002JF MKII IFR amoung our CS/23 fleet," said Tecnam Global Sales and Marketing Director Walter Da Costa.

"Now we can offer the most affordable IFR two-seat single-engine in the market. For us this is the proof that Tecnam is able to offer a real 'one-fleet solution'. This is our strategy."

According to Tecnam, the P2002JF MKII was developed in response to feedback from both private customers and flying schools that sought an alternative two-seat IFR training aircraft.
