Nominations are now open for the 2019 general aviation Wings Awards.

The annual awards are now in their seventh year, and since inception in 2013, have recognised people who have contributed to the GA community in Australia with passion and dedication.

Sponsored by the Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society and Australian Flying, awards are made in four categories:

  • The Col Pay Award for a Lifetime of Service to General Aviation
  • Flying Training Organisation of the Year
  • Flying Instructor of the Year
  • Aero Club of the Year

This year features a two-stage nomination process, in which the initial nominations don't need to address the selection criteria immediately. Only if your nomination is short-listed for an award will the judges need to see the criteria addressed.

Nominations close on 26 July, but the sooner you get the initial details to Australian Flying the longer you will have to put forward your full nomination if short-listed.

Check the Australian Flying website for more details on the 2019 Wings Awards and a link to make your initial nominations.
