Wings over Illawarra (WOI) and regional carrier JETGO have entered a strategic partnership that will see JETGO as a major sponsor of the 2018 air show.

Wings Over Illawarra is recognised by the New South Wales Government as a major event, attracting in excess of 30,000 visitors to Albion Park across the show weekend 5-6 May.

JETGO Australia's runs regular daily services from Wollongong to Melbourne and Brisbane, which the airline sees as an ideal fit to support WOI.

JETGO Managing Director Paul Bredereck said, “Wings Over Illawarra Airshow was extremely important for not only the region but also exposing the aviation industry to the public and for young people who may eventually consider a career in aviation.

"Who knows? Our future Pilots, Engineers or Cabin Crew are likely to be in the audience at the show!”

JETGO joins VisitNSW and fuel company Viva Energy as major sponsors of the 2018 Wings over Illawarra, which gives further impetus to a program that is already Australia's largest annual air show.

“We are thrilled to have JETGO Australia on board with us for this year's event, said Bright Events Director, Mark Bright. "Having the regular JETGO services to Illawarra Regional Airport gives patrons from Melbourne and Brisbane easy, convenient and affordable access, and provides a great synergy for our two businesses.”
