A Gulfstream G700 set a new city pair record for San Francisco to Paris en route to the 2025 Paris Air Show last Friday.
The executive jet covered the 4947-nm journey in 9 hours and 26 minutes at an average speed of 0.91 Mach. For comparison, commercial airliners generally do the trip in 10 hours and 45 minutes.
In addition, the G700 flew the distance burning sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which has earned the company Sustainable Wings Accreditation from the National Aeronautic Association (NAA).
"Recognition from our partners at the NAA and these latest record-breaking flights further demonstrate Gulfstream’s industry-leading commitment to sustainability,” said Gulfstream president Mark Burns.
“We are excited for the G700 and our award-winning Gulfstream G600 to return to the International Paris Air Show this year and look forward to showcasing the compelling combination of advanced technology, performance and comfort as increased demand for our next-generation aircraft continues in Europe.”
In repositioning to San Francisco from Teterboro, New Jersey, the G700 set a city-pair record between those two cities as well, covering the 2272 nm in four hours and 57 minutes.
Gulfstream's G700 is a long-range executive jet capable of carrying up to 19 passengers. It is powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines that give the aircraft a maximum speed of 0.935 Mach.
The aircraft currently holds more than 80 city-pair records.
