Flight Training Adelaide (FTA) has signed an agreement to buy 20 Diamond DA-40 single and four DA-42 twin aircraft for use at the Qantas Group Pilot Academy, it was announced this week.

The aircraft will be based at the Qantas academy at Wellcamp Airport in Toowoomba, QLD.

“We have been very pleased with our fleet of Diamond Aircraft in Adelaide," said FTA CEO Pine Pienaar, "so it was an easy decision to replicate this model in Wellcamp. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Diamond Aircraft.”

Diamond Aircraft CEO Scott McFadzean said “Diamond Aircraft would like to congratulate the Flight Training Adelaide team on their exciting new partnership with Qantas Group Pilot Academy.

"Flight Training Adelaide has been a long-standing partner of Diamond Aircraft and we look forward to continuing to support their tremendous growth and focused mission to provide world class flight training to their airlines partners, now including Qantas Group Pilot Academy.”

FTA already operates 34 DA-40s and eight DA-42 twins from their base in Parafield, SA.
