Oregon manufacturer Epic Aircraft announced this week that they had shipped the 100th E1000 type-certified single-engine turbo-prop (SETP).
The milestone aircraft, an E1000 AX to be based in Texas, was shipped five years after E1000 was type-certified.
“Achieving this delivery milestone underscores the strength of demand for our aircraft,” said Epic Aircraft CEO Doug King. “We reached our 100th certified aircraft faster than anyone imagined.
“From our first to our 100th aircraft, each certified Epic reflects the innovation, passion, and commitment of our employees – and the belief of our owner community.
“Each delivery is more than an aircraft. It’s the beginning of a new adventure.”
The E1000 started life as a kit-only aircraft, until Epic Aircraft saw a market for a factory-built version and took their SETP down the road to certification. The US Federal Aviation Administration issued the type certificate in November 2019, just in time for a certain pandemic to roll out across the world.
In its first full year as a certified aeroplane, Epic reported no deliveries at all due to the impact of COVID-19. In 2021, nine E1000s were rolled out. In 2024, Epic built 26, a 288% increase in three years.
Powered by a single PT6A-67A turbine, the six-seat E1000 has a normal cruise of 313 KTAS, a maximum range of 1560 nm and a useful load of 1341 kg.
In just five years, the company has introduced and certified two next-generation models, the GX and the AX. Collectively, the fleet has accrued over 41,000 flight hours.
