Italian manufacturer Tecnam announced this week that Essendon-based Avionics 2000 has been appointed as an official service centre for the P2012 Traveller.
The appointment has been made to provide support for the twin-engined 11-seater as the customer base in Australia grows.
Australian agent for the P2012, Hallmarc Aviation said Avionics 2000 was a logical choice.
“Hallmarc Aviation has worked closely with Avionics 2000 for over three decades," said Hallmarc CEO Michael Loccisano. "This new chapter with Tecnam reflects our joint commitment to providing the highest standard of service to the aviation community.
"This appointment further strengthens our commitment to customers across Australia, particularly in Victoria and Tasmania.
"Combined with in-country technical support and parts supply, Avionics 2000 brings a wealth of experience and capability to support our growing customer base for the Tecnam P2012 Traveller and STOL aircraft.”
Anna Mant, Business Manager at Avionics 2000, said the MRO was capable of providing a high level of service for Traveller customers.
“Avionics 2000 provides a comprehensive suite of services including MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul), instrument repairs and calibration, electrical and radio systems, custom avionics upgrades, special mission platform integration, R&D, and more.
"This appointment allows us to bring our full capabilities to Tecnam operators, ensuring they receive the highest level of technical support and innovation.”
There are three P2012 Travellers currently on the VH register, two of which are registered to Australian launch customer Torres Strait Air at Horn Island.
