AOPA Australia announced on Monday that it was launching an Insurance Services Division for its members, to be managed by former AOPA CEO Aaron Stephenson.
AOPA Executive Director Ben Morgan said the new scheme would give members access to competitive insurance products.
"Now all aircraft owners and operators across Australia can enjoy the very best value for money insurance products, whilst supporting the invaluable work and advocacy the AOPA Australia undertakes in the pursuit of general aviation reform and revitalisation.
"We're confident that aircraft owners and operators will find our insurance services competitive and compelling."
Appointing Stephenson to run the scheme seemed logical given his experience with both AOPA and aviation insurance.
"Aaron is a respected and trusted AOPA representative and has an extensive aviation insurance background," Morgan said. "He is well placed to be our new Insurance Services Division and I am pleased to have the opportunity to work so closely with him."
