Airvan 10 Crashes During Spin Test

Several news reports have confirmed that a GippsAero GA10 Airvan has crashed while conducting testing near Mojave, California. 

Two pilots on board parachuted to safety. Both were unharmed, the National Test Pilot School - which was providing test and chase support to GippsAero - reported in a tweet. 

Australian Flying can confirm that one of the pilots on board was Manager of Flight Testing at Mahindra, David Wheatland. David is currently recovering in hospital. The aircraft that was lost was VH-XMH. The cause of the crash is as yet unknown.
