They may have a new name and a new look, but the former Wings Over Illawarra is continuing with the exciting mix of flying entertainment and family friendly fun that has made the Shellharbour airshow a crowd favourite since 2007.

Airshows Downunder Shellharbour is a two-day carnival of aviation with something for everyone. It will showcase the best of modern defence force aircraft, civil aerobatics performers, restored historic and warbird aircraft and ground displays, with two action-packed days of flying and a wide range of aircraft on the display program.

There will be noise and spectacle aplenty as some of Australia’s best flyers demonstrate The Right Stuff in everything from today’s fast jets to restored biplanes.

But the entertainment won’t just be in the air. Airshows Downunder Shellharbour will feature FREE sideshow rides for the kids, great food and drink, and stalls and stands selling all manner of goodies and curios.

And, new for 2024, your Airshows Downunder Shellharbour ticket price will also give you access to the Historic Aviation Restoration Society (HARS) aircraft on static display. There will be no additional fee.

Take the train or the car and join us in the beautiful Illawarra, within easy distance of Sydney, and get close to those magnificent men and women in their flying machines – and their flying machines.

Volunteer Registration for Airshows Downunder Shellharbour 2024 is now open.

We are looking for people with a wide variety of skills to work across a broad range of areas at the airshow. Our volunteers work across the many departments that put the event together – including aviation services, corporate hospitality, event information and operations.
