Melbourne-based Airitalia has been appointed a Tecnam sales agent for the Australia states and territories of Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

Airitalia also represents another Italian manufacturer, Vulcanair, and will work in co-operation with Tecnam Australia.

“We admire Tecnam as a business, the people who run it, and the modern, continually updated range of aircraft they offer," said Airitalia CEO Michael Loccisano. "We are delighted to be able to immediately add the complimentary Tecnam product to the range of aircraft we offer.”

Tecnam Australia's Bruce Stark believes Airitalia will add value to the company's presence in Australia.

"With our recently updated range, including the diesel powered P2010 CD, Airitalia will be a valuable and trusted partner for flying training organisations, businesses, and private individuals wishing to purchase Tecnam aircraft," he said.

Airitalia was founded by father and son Ron and Michael Loccisano. Airitalia’s association with Tecnam chief designer and aeronautical engineer, Professor Luigi Pascale, dates back to the late 1970s with Partenavia, when Ron Loccisano established a national aircraft courier business in Australia and met Prof. Pascale in Naples.

The Tecnam and Vulcanair ranges are seen to be a good fit with Airitalia as both companies have heritage back to Partenavia.
