Airbus Helicopters believes it maintained a market-leading position in the large turbine helicopter market, claiming a 54% share for 2019.

The announcement made this week comes ahead of the expected General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) 2019 shipment figures due to be released next Thursday.

Airbus delivered 332 turbine helicopters for the year, with 130 H125s and 91 H145s making up the bulk of customer demand. The company booked a total of 369 orders for the year, both civil and military.

Airbus Helicopters' revenues for the year broke the EURO 7 billion mark including support and services income streams.

“The increased contribution from support and services and key wins in the military sector in 2019 underlines the importance of our robust business model," said Bruno Even, Airbus Helicopters CEO. "The balance between our different revenue streams enables us to maintain our global leadership in a challenging civil and parapublic market”

“Our customers place their trust in our solutions and our goal is keep providing them with improved products and services that keep them flying.”

Airbus' estimates place Leonardo second in the large turbine market with 23% share, followed by Bell (12%), Russian Helicopters (8%) and Sikorsky (1%).
